Recurring commission
You earn a share of each plan payment a store you referred makes, for a set period from its first payment, and a share of the plugins and themes it buys from the marketplace. Your terms are agreed with you when you join, and you can see them anytime in your store's settings.

How it works
Apply
Email [email protected] with a few lines about your agency or audience and the ShopsWired store you'll use as your partner account. Don't have one yet? Tell us, and we'll help you set one up. We'll agree your commission terms with you.
Get your code
Once you're approved, your store's address becomes your partner code, and you get a signup link that fills it in for the merchants you send. Both are in your store's Settings → Developer page, with your commission terms and a list of the stores you've referred.
Get paid
Connect a Stripe account on the same page. Each time a store you referred pays its plan or buys from the marketplace, your share is sent to that account and listed under Earnings.
Referring a store
There are four ways a store gets credited to you. Each store can have one partner.
Share your signup link
Your link is remembered in the merchant's browser for 60 days, and every store they create there in that time is credited to you. If they followed another partner's link first, that partner keeps the credit.
Give the merchant your code
A merchant can type your code into the Partner code field when creating their store. The form shows your name, so they can see it's right.
The merchant adds your code later
Already created their store? The owner can open Billing, select the store, and enter your code in its Partner field. This is available until the store pays its first full-price invoice.
Set yourself as partner on a store you manage
If you build and run a client's store, open Billing, select the client's store, and choose your partner account in its Partner field. This is available until the store pays its first full-price invoice. After that, contact us to add a partner.
Program terms
The essentials are below. The full rules are in Section 25 of our Terms of Service.
What does commission apply to?
Two things, each at the rate in your terms: the store's ShopsWired plan subscription, including any custom plan pricing, and the plugins and themes it buys from the marketplace, including in-app purchases. Usage charges beyond the plan are not included. Your share of a marketplace purchase comes from ShopsWired's side, so the plugin's developer is paid in full.
What about the $1 intro months?
New stores pay $1 a month for their first three months, and your commission is a share of what is actually paid. Full commission starts when the store moves to its standard price.
Whose card has to pay?
Commission is earned when the client's own card pays. A store billed to your partner store's own billing account earns nothing. If you manage billing for a client, create a separate billing account that carries the client's card. Paying for referred stores with your own card breaks these terms, and ShopsWired may withhold that commission or end the partnership.
When does my commission period start?
At the store's first payment, whichever card made it, and it runs for the period in your terms.
Agencies that build and run their clients' stores can be offered lifetime commission while managing the store: commission continues for as long as someone from your team is on the store's team. If the store removes your team, the regular period in your terms applies from the store's first payment.
Can a store change its partner?
A store has one partner, and its owner sees who it is on their Billing page. Once set, only ShopsWired support can change it. Write to us with any dispute.
How and when am I paid?
In US dollars, to the Stripe account you connect, each time a referred store pays. Money arrives in your Stripe balance first, then follows your own Stripe payout schedule to your bank. If your Stripe account isn't connected yet, your earnings are kept and sent once it is.
If a store's payment is refunded or disputed, the matching share of your commission is taken back from your Stripe account, in proportion to a partial refund. A dispute decided in the store's favour sends it again.
What promotion is not allowed?
Bidding on the ShopsWired name in search ads, presenting yourself as ShopsWired, and spam. You're responsible for following advertising rules wherever you promote ShopsWired, and for your own taxes on what you earn.
